How to contribute

Would you like to contribute? Let us show you some examples of ways people have contributed.

  • Five children under the age of 10 made bracelets and charms of beads. They sold the jewelry to their family and friends, and donated the money to the children in Tacloban.
  • The employee union of the Norwegian company Schenker donates money to Streetlight on a monthly base. The leader of the union, Geir Traaholdt, travelled to Tacloban in 2008 to volunteer.
  • Markaplassen School in Trondheim arranged a lottery and sale of cakes to support Streetlight. The children and teachers are all engaged in writing letters to the children in Tacloban. The help the Norwegian children are able to provide to the needing children in the Philippines has become an integrated part of the teaching plan at Markaplassen School. One day every year, all the children do volunteer work to collect money for the children in the care of Streetlight.
  • A group of young people in Oslo decided that what they can do best is to offer their services as consultants, working to improve Streetlight as an organization. They have worked effortlessly, putting Streetlight in contact with important partners such as legal partners and apt, who designed the web page. And this is just the beginning.
  • With the title “Best design firm in Norway” apt did what they know best. In no time they made a fun, beautiful and unique web page for Streetlight. Not only did they do this for free, but to test out our new paypal function, they donated 10 000 Norwegian kroner.
  • Sør-Trøndelag University College is deeply involved in the work Streetlight does for the children in Tacloban. Every year 6 students from the child care studies are sent to Tacloban for 6 weeks of practical studies. This is a unique way to learn, and a life changing experience for the youth. We can’t wait to welcome the next group of students.
